Wells Employees Raise Thousands To Help Kids And Families

Caring for Kids Radiothon 2018

Every year, Wells Insurance sets out to raise money for the Caring For Kids Fund which provides financial assistance and daily personal supplies to those families who arrive at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center for extended periods of time because of sick children.

A dedicated team of social workers at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital identify ways to support families in need so they can cover the cost of transportation, buy vital medications, or get the necessities needed to care for their child or safely discharge them home. Donations help provide an essential balance for families who don’t otherwise have the means to carry the financial burden of caring for a hospitalized child.

Our employees are challenged by our COO to support this annual event in various ways. Some volunteer their time during the radiothon, answering phones and taking pledges. Some stay behind and cover the office for those who are volunteering, and others reach into our own pockets and give.

This event is a whole office event and the love is palpable.

This year our company challenged employees on-air to raise $1500. We are proud to announce that not only did we all reach that goal, we surpassed it for a total of $1,870.  As a result, Wells Insurance matched our employee contribution of $1,870 for a grand total of $3,740.

The total funds raised were $37, 574 with a few more donations expected to come in today.  This means our company together raised almost 10% of the entire donations!

We are blown away with the generosity of our team and so happy that we have the chance to make a difference in our community.
