Born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, Adam is a lifelong boater and fisherman. He started sailing when he was six years old, and began racing sailboats in his teens. He delivered sailboats to the Caribbean throughout his tenure at Wake Forest University, and continued that marine focus through his Admiralty law courses at the Wake Forest University School of Law.
A marine insurance law course revealed his true calling in life, and upon graduation, started his career in the field. Training as a Marine Loss Control Specialist with St. Paul / Travelers Insurance surveying barges, tugs, and shipyards across the country allowed Adam to gain a wide range of marine experience before becoming an Ocean Marine Underwriter for St. Paul / Travelers.
Switching to the agency side several years later, Adam has specialized solely in recreational and commercial marine insurance since 2000, growing a solid reputation for building long term relationships, guiding his clients to the proper product for their risk, and providing superior customer service.
Adam’s certifications include Associate in Marine Insurance Management (AMIM) from the Insurance Institute of America, USCG Shipboard Firefighting certification, he is a certified brown water barge fleeting seaman and proud to be an Eagle Scout.
When he’s not reading marine insurance policies, Adam enjoys spending time with his family on the sandbar, hunting, and attempting to pass himself off as a competent fisherman.
