Short answer is no.
Often the initial claim check that you receive is going to be based on actual cash value. And then when the work is completed and you can show a final invoice, recoverable depreciation can be received from the carrier. But cashing that check does not inhibit you from asking an adjuster to come out to assess further damage or that a supplement can't be made in addition to that first claim.
Don't be afraid of going ahead and using those funds for what you need.
