John Blackwell

John Blackwell has worked in the insurance industry since 1998 and brings extensive experience across Employee Benefits and life insurance planning.

He began his career in Atlanta with John Hancock, where he earned several national awards recognizing his performance and expertise. In 2002, John returned to his home state of North Carolina and joined Wells Insurance.

Over the years, John has developed long-standing client relationships built on trust, responsiveness, and sound advice. His Employee Benefits clients include organizations such as Live Oak Bank, nCino, Longley Supply, Neuwirth Motors, Bug-N-A-Rug, Cape Fear Commercial, Brunswick Forest, Eagle Point Golf Club, and Zimmer Development Company.

Outside of work, John is an avid competitive golfer. He played collegiate golf at Wofford College and continues to compete in state and national amateur tournaments. He lives in Wilmington with his wife, Eliza, and their three children, Walter, Ali, and Taylor.
